My name is Liz Jones and I am an independent Celebrant working in the West Midlands, Worcestershire and Shropshire. I am privileged to be asked to support people in the happiest and saddest times of their lives and my role is to assist you to have the best experience, whether it’s for a wedding, funeral, baby naming, remembrance ceremony or vow renewal.

We are all unique and my aim is to work with you to ensure that, whatever the ceremony, it is tailored to meet your desires. Every ceremony is written with you in mind, reflecting what you want to communicate uniting people in happy and sad times. Ceremonies are an essential part of some of the most pivotal times of our lives and my aim is to ensure that you have moments to remember and cherish.

By meeting and talking with you I will always endeavour to ensure that your ceremony is special. From helping you to chose music, poems or readings my role is to take the stress out of planning your ceremony so that it runs smoothly and to plan.

Funerals

If a loved one has shared wishes about the funeral they want my role is to ensure that those final wishes are met. However, many of us don’t make these plans and we are left wondering what to do for the best. My role is to support you, in the most difficult of times, to ensure that the ceremony is truly reflective of a lost loved one. Serious, a happy celebration of life or pause for reflection a funeral can be a true representation of a loved one lost and my role is to help you to navigate the many choices you may need to make but don’t know where to begin.

Weddings

Many couples now choose to have a legal ceremony at a Registry Office and then create their own unique ceremony for family and friends to attend. Indoors or outdoors your special day is as unique as you are. Being able to write your own words, have special readings, poetry and music to tell your story ensure that your day is like no other. There are so many symbolic gestures that can be incorporated such as handfasting, sand ceremonies, drinking from the Quiach or jumping the broom. I am here to support and guide you through the process of designing your wedding ceremony, creating a day no one will ever forget.

Baby Naming

A new life is a blessing and so often we want to share the naming of our child but without a religious theme. A baby naming ceremony enables you to welcome a new life with friends and family and to formalise the naming of your child in their presence. You can chose Guide Parents who will make a vow to be a presence in your child’s life, chose a location, even your own home, to welcome and honour the name you have chosen for your child.

Vow Renewals

Celebrating a special anniversary or just celebrating a life filled with love? Being able to renew wedding vows is the ideal way to celebrate your union. Affirming your love for each other in the presence of family and friends is the perfect way to share and honour your relationship. Many couples love the experience because it enables them to reaffirm their original vows to each other and, sometimes, make new ones. My role is to ensure that your story is told and honoured and to create memories for many years to come. Do you want to include music, symbolic gestures? The choice is yours and I am here to help you create a day as unique as you.

Remembrance Ceremony

Some people chose not to have a formal funeral service but, instead, opt to have a ceremony where they are remembered, and their lives celebrated. This is a less formal ceremony but is a way of honouring our loved one, remembering the good times and who they were as an individual. With less time constraints than a standard funeral service there is so much that can be included, and my role is to guide you so that the ceremony I deliver is truly reflective of how you wish to remember a loved one but also to celebrate their life and legacy. Generally, less formal than a funeral service, I am here to guide you through music choices, readings, film/ photo shows to create a ceremony fitting of your loved one.
